Blog 3: Creating My First Oracle APEX Application – Step by Step

Prerequisites
Before creating an Oracle APEX application, you should have:

Access to an Oracle APEX workspace

Step 1: Login to Oracle APEX Workspace

Open Oracle APEX URL (apex.oracle.com or company workspace)

Enter:

Workspace

Username

Password

Click Sign In
📌 After login, you will see the Oracle APEX Builder Home Page.
Step 2: Create a New Application

Click App Builder
-
Click Create

Select New Application

Enter:

Application Name (e.g., Employee Management System)

Click Create Application
Oracle APEX automatically creates default pages like:

Home Page

Login Page
Step 3: Add a Page to the Application

Inside App Builder, click Create Page

Choose a page type:

Form

Dashboard

Select Form

Choose table or view

Click Create Page

Step 4: Configure Page Components
After page creation:

Regions are created automatically

Page Items are mapped to table columns

Buttons like Create, Save, Delete are added

Validations and Processes are auto-generated
This saves a lot of development time.
Step 5: Run the Application

Click Run Application

Login using application credentials
